Why Lord? What lord?

This year has been a very interesting one. It was the start of a new decade that started with a bang! It looked very promising, with lots of plans, lots of resolutions, and lots of things to look forward to. However, weeks after the new year started, the whole world was shocked. Tables were shaken. Tables of every life, home, family, church, company, country, leaders got shaken by this Coronavirus.

I am very sure that, if you were told on the 31st of December 2019 that you would have to sit at home and not go out, except to buy food and take fresh air for 3 months plus, you would have laughed! But here we are. Here we are, in a new season, a new type of abnormal, or normality to some.

Nevertheless, the biggest question which every believer must ask themselves in this time is “Why Lord?, What Lord?”. Honestly! This is a serious question we must take to the table. We need to take this question to the throne of Grace, the throne of God. Nothing happens in this world that God does not know about. Not to say that God caused this lockdown, but He allowed it. He saw it coming

before we did. He knew this would happen. He could have decided not to allow it but He did. And He knows why, and for what.

Why? What?

We need to ask Him “why” and “what”, not to grumble about being sat at home, but WHY He wants us to sit at home and WHAT He wants us to do or to be doing. If you have not yet realised, know now that God is calling every single one of us back to Him. He has removed every single thing that takes our attention and time away from Him. I know you have heard that many times, but has it changed you? The knowledge that God has allowed everything to be taken from you to focus on Him. HAS IT REALLY CHANGED YOU? Or have you found something else to replace those things that were taken away? Or as the other little comforts He has allowed us to have during this time taking over, are we misusing them?

Don't come out of this lockdown, locked away from God.

Don’t come out of this lockdown, locked away from God. Don’t come out of this with nothing. Come out with a better relationship with Christ. Come out true to your relationship with God.

Post Lockdown will define those that profess Christ because they simply know the name, from those that know Christ truly. Post lockdown will show the difference between church attendees and Christ followers.

I implore you to use this time to

  • Read the Word, Learn the Word, Meditate on His Word - “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Joshua 1: 8

  • Learn to Pray and Fast, Learn to study the word if you don’t know how to - “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

  • Take part in individual and group Bible study, connect with a true christian church - "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6

  • Develop yourself, preach and encourage another person - "For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil." Hebrews 5:12-14

  • Be renewed. Seek for a clean and renewed heart. - "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me" Psalm 51:10

  • Help others - "
