The Blind Man

FAITH IN CHRIST ALONE

Faith is a funny thing; many people claim to have it but only a select few actively work it out. Faith is no big deal to some, you can still serve GOD without it right? You can still pray, read your bible, sing worship, rap and perform, all this can still be done without faith. Outwardly seeming to have a relationship with God whilst inwardly stewing with anguish, doubt, worry and unbelief.

A Christian without faith,

is one on a slippery journey

to becoming disillusioned

with their own faith.

Faith is the key, the key element to pleasing God, the key to a true walk in freedom. I cannot stress this point enough, faith without works is dead and works without faith is also DEAD. It is important to sit still and reflect on whether you are walking in faith or are you still holding on to control.

Here is a story I wrote below to illustrate faith:

The Blind Man.

There once was a man a blind man who was very familiar with his darkness

He lost his sight at a young age and stayed in his house ever since.

He did not like to go out with the other kids, he wanted others to come in.

He stayed in the same house since birth and never really stepped out.

When mum and dad were still around they would suggest going out,

However, the young boy would refuse and would simply play at home.

Many years have gone by, mum and dad are no longer around. The old

Man spends most of his time alone in his home, A home that he knows in and out.

In this house the old man is in control, he knows where everything is and this familiarity

gave him sight. It gave him Control.

One day he hears a knock on the door, there are new neighbours. They want him to come out but His fear spoke before he could, and he turned them down.

He was very lonely and his heart oh so fragile,

he wanted the company but was now imprisoned in

A cage he erected himself. Nonetheless every day that neighbour came unfailingly to knock, inviting him to step outside.

What cage have you erected yourself that is stopping God from Coming in? is it fear? is it low self esteem ? past experiences? Doubt? What ever it is, faith in God holds the key to your freedom.

Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
